How often should you get a trim?

For most men, a trim every four to six weeks keeps a cut looking sharp. Hair grows about a centimetre a month, and that is enough to blur the lines of a fade or push a neat taper into a shaggy shape.
Skin fades and short back and sides grow out fastest, so they look best on a three to four week rhythm. A longer scissor cut with some texture is more forgiving and can stretch to six or even eight weeks.
A quick test: if your neckline has lost its edge or your fringe is getting in your eyes, you are due. A tidy-up between cuts is a quick way to stay sharp without a full appointment.
